THE METRO AFTERNOON...Kunal Roy
It was yesterday only. I was returning home from college. I purchased the token, completed the steps and reached the platform. I waited for nearly ten minutes for the train to chug into the platform to take me to my destination!
The sliding doors opened after a signal. I went inside, but couldn't not manage a seat. The whole compartment was teeming with life. Talks, chats, shouts and laughter followed irresistibly. However, I came across a handful of interesting events. An old student of my college had a tete - e - tete with me for a short while. We laughed together and cherished a few memories of the bygone days. Little later I heard a scream and turned round. To my utter surprise, a boy shouted after being blessed with a love bite from a girl standing close to her! It was really amusing to discover that a handsome guy of nearly six feet height screamed at such a small thing! Conventionally a girl shouts if she is being teased lovingly by her adorable boy friend. And the bit created a significant mark on his left hand! On the other, the train moved at a dizzy speed! And I found an empty seat, staring at time with an inflated insolence! Without wasting a moment more, I rushed and occupied the seat! I heaved a deep sigh and awaited my destination! Amid such oodles of fun, someone spewed out the stomach content on the floor of the compartment! The sight stirred my veins. I felt as if I was going to vomit and enhanced the ambience of sickness! A senior citizen placed his feet and the matter turned worse from bad! I am still unsure if the floor was mopped or not to wipe out the dirt properly!
A Sunday afternoon metro ride can really boost up your dropping mood, if you come across such stuff! I reached my destination safely, came home, unlocked the door, went inside, changed and took rest before the evening beckoned me for a completely different assignment that would suit to my palette!!
