THE SAVIOUR | Kunal Roy | Poem

THE SAVIOUR
Kunal Roy

Thousands of years ago,
He came to the world of mortality.
A clemency from God,
An oracle from God,
The orisons were sent before:
He was an answer to the oppressed humanity!
He was Christ.
He was Jesus.
He was the Saviour.
He was beautiful,  benevolent.
But society spewed hemlock,
He was tried,
whipped,
bled,
scars were left.
The cross he bore to the mountain tops,
The Apollo was silent and shocked,
Questioned: "Is this to the son of God?"
A deaf ear was turned.
The eyes spoke of envy or anguish.
He was crucified.
He breathed his last.
The passion passed into oblivion.
Two days later. Resurrection!!
Spoke an eternal truth:
I change but I cannot die!
