THE TIME OF LOVE , LANGUAGE, STRUGGLE, DEATH AND RECOGNITION

Kunal Roy

Winter has waved us au revoir. The Spring has set in, no matter if it ephemeral or not! And the breeze blows among the tender boughs, fetching in the fragrance of love and closeness to add a few logs to the fire of passion rooted in the heart of every single individual on the earth.
February. The month of love and romance. Revelry is in the air. The pounding heart inspires to utter the words " I Love you my dear " to his or her lover or beloved. The much famed Valentine's Day is celebrated with vim and vigour. Little worried if the heart meets the market economy! The price of a red rose shoots up to Rs 75. The cards bearing the lovely decoration hit an exorbitant price. The gold, silver and diamond are simply beyond the reach, ( not for everyone though!). Yet the festive mood never takes a back seat. The couples meet, exchange the greetings, kiss each other, hold the arms and spend time, much to the content of their hearts. It is pretty interesting to note that the day actually marks the sacrifice of Saint Valentine for encouraging the young souls to love and fall in love. A day to lament. But with the passage of time the connotation has undergone a sea change! And the focus has shifted from learning lessons to embracing of this priceless emotion! Interestingly, this week is adorable in every possible way. Love has wings. There is no such valid interpretation of this feel. You cannot foretell when you are in the lap of someone you truly adore, nevertheless it might have thorns!
A week later. The International Mother Language Day is celebrated through the globe. Patriotism and Reverence bind the people. A day to remember the struggling moments to obtain a perennial recognition of the mother tongue! But every year the day is celebrated in a different way. At certain places song, dance, recitation and other forms of performing art rule the roost and somewhere I feel the relevance is lost to a certain degree. The pattern has to change. The format has to be rethought before the whole arrangement is made and executed to pay tribute to the souls lost forever! Most importantly, both the events ought not to be a one day affair. Love and Language are inextricably intermingled with one another. Time to fathom and realise the importance of this happy blend, keeping the rest at bay!
A world created by the Lord with the ingredients of love and language. The disappearance might put the human race at stake! Every moment we hear the story of killing the emotion and the untimely death of language. Cannot we stop such affairs? Cannot we bring back the true harmony to our life? Cannot we become a bit serious about such affairs? The answers may be different, tinged with the different shades of argument! Yet the journey must not stop. Moments of repentance should not be there. Remember the arrow shot from a bow never returns to the quiver! An unwavering truth, not an attempt to impart knowledge to you!!
